AMRITSAR: Akali Dal (Mann) president Simranjit Singh Mann on Noy.23 took strong exception of the Badal Dal’s decision to withdraw the November 1 protest morcha launched jointly by various Panthic factions in protest against the sacrilege of Guru Granth Sahib at a Gujjarwal gurdwara in Ludhiana district in September.

Talking to newsmen here after his release, Mann said his party would again restart the morcha which was called off on March 14. He expressed surprise that the Badal faction did not consult any other faction while taking the decision to call off the morcha. The decision to launch it was taken jointly by all the factions that participated in it, he pointed out.

The Akali leader however, gave No tentive time frame for restarting the morcha, which was to have been in the form of a protest march to Delhi from the Golden Temple.

He was also critical of the state government for imposing bans on all forms of protests.
