Chandigarh: S. Parkash Sin gh Majitha and fourteen others have resigned from the United Akali Dal. Prominent among them are S. Surjit Singh Ranake and S. Hardalbir Singh. They have reportedly joined Barnala Akali Dal. Earlier S. Randhir Singh Cheema and Bibi Satwant Kaur, ex Akali Ministers, had resigned along with their supporters.
Baba Joginder Singh, Convener United Akali Dal refused to comment on the defection of these leaders but declared that his party was as strong as ever.
