Dear Editor.

Indian Government has been trying hard to suppress Sikh youth movement in Punjab. It is very well known to all of us that thousands of our Sikh youths are still rotting in Indian jails.

But my utter shock and grief is that the same Indian government with help from overzealous authorities in this country has been successful in suppressing many of our young and promising Sikh youths even in America. I know some of these young men who worked very hard for weeks to prepare for the convention held last year at the Madison Square Garden in New York, and contributed immensely to see that the convention is successful. This event is amongst the top ten according to New York Times in post-independence Sikh history. The same youths are rotting in American jails. Around June 85, when Rajiv Gandhi visited USA, these young men were all rounded up and have been languishing in jails ever since. There major crime is that they are Sikhs. Sikh youths are being annihilated all over the world and our future is being destroyed by our enemies within and without. It is a matter of great concern. My most humble and passionate appeal to you all is to rise to the urgent call of the time, please help the community and help the youths.
