PUNE: S. Harjinder Singh Jinda ‘one of the two convicted in the General Vaidya case has in a letter written to his mother has asked her not to go in appeal against his death sentence,

“I can say with firm conviction that what I did was my sacred duty towards my nation and my people”, the letter is reported to have said. “I will always stand by my action and if that attracts a death penalty so be it.”

The Pune High Court imposed the death penalty in November this year on Harjinder Singh and Sukhdev Singh.
