VILLANOVA: Franziska Hentsehel scored a pair of goals and goalkeeper Bianca Weiss blocked a penalty stroke by Maria Castelli with 18 minutes remaining to give Germany a 21 victory over Argentina and the Intercontinental Cup hockey title.
Vanana Oneto recently gave Argentina the lead with her fifth goal of the tournament in the opening minute. But Hentsehel converted a penalty comer nine minutes later and added the game winner from close range in the 461h minute.

The top five teams [rom the Intercontinental Cup which qualified for the World Cup is Germany, Argentina, Russia, Canada and the USA. The USA beat Scotland through penalty strokes to win the final Spot.
In the games, Masami Nishimoto scored in the seventh minute and Akemi Kato converted a penalty corner, India’s hopes of securing a berth in the World Cup were dashed when they went down to USA 24 in the penalty shootout, The match ended in 2 00 draw when the penalty shootout was ordered.
