NEW DELHI (PTI): A global convention of people of Indian Origin is to be held in Montreal, Canada next year.

The objective of the convention is 10 raise foreign exchange remittances from abroad, to promote Indian culture abroad and to increase active participation of the NRIs in economic and political fields in the country of their domicile, according to Prof Shatrughan

A regional convention will be held in New Delhi, in November this year, prior to the global convention Prof Darbari said in a statement.

It would coincide with the international trade fair and would bring together prominent Non Resident Indians (NRIs) and international businessmen for possible joint collaborations in India, Prof Darhan said.
