NEW DELHE: India has sought Romania’s permission to send a team of investigators to Bucharest to interrogate those who made a daring attempt on the life-of the Indian ambassador, Julio Francis Ribciro, according to highly placed sources.

The sources said the former super cop Ribciro was hit in the thigh. Though there was considerable loss of blood, his condition was “stable”,

Word is awaited from the Romanian authorities about the identity of the attackers. Though the Indian embassy in Bucharest was in touch with the concerned authorities there, they have drawn a blank thus far on this critical issue, the sources said.
