NEW DELHI, India, May 12, Reuter: India accused Pakistani troops on Thursday of raiding an army post high on the disputed Siachin glacier in the Himalayas 10 days before senior Officials were due to hold talks about the dispute,

An official spokesman said Pakistani troops attacked an Indian post at Bana on the night of May 9.

He said the attack was fought off with artillery and small arms without any casualties on the Indian side. Pakistani casualties could not be determined because of poor visibility, he added.

The top defence ministry civil servants of the two countries are scheduled to hold talks in Islamabad on May 19 over the glacier, in northwest Ladakh, which both claim,

The glacier dominates routes into the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir, an area also long dispute.
