ISLAMABAD: Hindu families are leaving ‘Sindh in large numbers following a sudden spurt in kidnapping and killings reports here Stated.

A Pakistani daily said 90 Hindus were kidnapped from Larkana and Sukkur during the last three months. Among them seven were abducted from Jacobabad and 30) from Khairpur it said.

The “frontier post” quoting a spokesman of Hindu Panchayats (village self-governing bodies) said over Rs one million had been paid as ransom for their release.

Prominent leaders including Sundu Das of Khairpur and Dr.Dwarka Das of Sukkur Birjo Malof Panoakil and Hoond Rajof Jarwar are among the victims the daily said.

Reports here said during this period four Hindus were killed. They include Dharam Pal from Dadu and Amamath a resident of Shikarpur.

According to the frontier post temples had been damaged in Pannoakil Ubauro Hyderabad Shahdadpur and Jacobabad

It said the Masoloum of legendary Bhagat Kanwar Ram had also been desecrated.

The insecurity gripping the Hindu community had forced many to migrate from the province the reports said

The Pakistani Daily said 405 Hindu families from Jacobabad Kandhkot Karampur Sukkur and Khairpur had reportedly migrated to India.

Hindus left behind were being threatened blackmailed and covered the Daily said.

The Hindu spokesman said complaints had been lodged with the provincial administration but no help had been forthcoming to ensure their security from the terror unleashed by bandits.

He said the Hindu minority had to bear the brunt of vested interests whenever there were communal clashes in India.
