SONEPAT: The Haryana Chief Minister Bhajan Lal announced that he was hopeful of a solution of territorial and water disputes with Punjab within two months. While presiding over the civic reception accorded to the newly elected HPCC-1 president Dharam Pal Malik here he said that he had already had two meetings with the Punjab Chief Minister Beant Singh He said that we Would remove all misunderstandings with the neighboring state and usher in an era of mutual goodwill Bhajan Lal said that work on the SYL canal in Punjab territory would be completed soon and Water would reach the fields in Haryana in less than a year. He said all political parties would be taken into confidence white sorting out issues.

Bhajan Lal announced the release of D.A. installment to its employees on the pattern of the central government He said that the government was actively considering retaining the name of HAU as Ch. Charan Singh Agricultural University Hissar. He said that he had highest regard for Ch. Chadin Singh

Bhajan Lal said thatRs500 crore would be spent on various schemes relating to agriculture rural development irrigation power social welfare etc. during the eighth five-year plan.

Bhajan Lal said that he had taken up the issue of equalization of sales tax with the Delhi administration and the Government of India so that traders do not suffer.

He asked the district authority not to harass the farmers taking their wheat to Delhi.

Regarding the tenure of presidents of Congress commits he said that he had approached the high command to increase it to five years. The working committee on Congress-I is actively considering this Proposal.
