CHANDIGARH: Punjab Chief Minister Beant Singh’s grandson Gurkirat Singh has filed a defamation suit in the court of the chief judicial magistrate, Chandigarh, against Shiromani Akali Dal president and former Chief minister Parkash Singh Badal and five others in connection with the alleged attempted abduction of one Ms. Poonam Arora at Gidderbaha.
The complaint states that since Gidderbaha is the home constituency of Parkash Singh Badal and the Akali Dal candidate is his nephew, he has made the elections a prestige issue and in this process of political frenzy, he has ceased to discriminate between means fair and foul to achieve his partisan political ends.”
The complaint further states that Badal and the other accused found an easy stooge in Ms. Poonam Arora and alleges that together, they hatched a conspiracy.
