SAN JOSE: Sunday, Sept. 24, the Sangat of Gurdwara Sahib San Jose were the gracious hosts to the Mayor of San Jose, Ms. Susan Hammer, the local police chief, the deputy sheriff of Santa Clara County and their city ‘council representative as they proudly gave a presentation of the building plans for their new gurdwara. The Sangat has purchased a 40 acre parcel of land about one and one half miles from the current Quimby road building and they hope to have the building finished in a record time to coincide with the 1999 Khalsa anniversary. The word is that the Gurdwara Sahib will be the largest one in North America.
