AMRITSAR, Punjab, India: Feb. 27, Reuter: A feud that erupted after an Indian villager accused a neighbor of abducting his wife ended in tragedy when gunmen shot dead seven people in a north Indian village, police said on Saturday.

Police said Mohinder Singh allegedly hired four or five gunmen who forced their way into a house in Talwandi Chanchak village, southwest of the Sikh holy city of Amritsar on Friday night and murdered the occupants.

Tiara Singh, his wife, two sons, two teenage daughters and a family guest died in the attack.

The 55yearold victim had accused Mohinder Singhof abducting his wife some years ago and the two men had been enemies ever since, police said.
