One of our youth is opting for Akhand Path instead of a birthday party’s Rupinder Singh, who turned 16 on July 3, 1995, requested his parents, Mr and Mrs, Balwinder Singh, of Burke, Virginia, to celebrate his birthday by having an Akhand Path and ““Dastar Bandi” ceremony at the same time.
Rupindcr’s “Dastar Bandi” ceremony took place at Sikh Foundation of Virginia on July 1, 1995 The Sangat showered their blessings on Rupinder for this choice, the unwavering determination to Sikhism and Sikh heritage.
The resident Granthi Giani Kuldeep Singh Ji performed the religious ceremony.
The renowned Physician and Ex-Principal of Medical College Amritsar, Dr. Pritam Singh, spoke about the significance of “Dastar” in Sikh Religion.
