JAMMU: Over 300 Kashmiri youth have been killed in encounters and nearly 800 arrested so far on the Line of Actual Control, governor of the Jammu and Kashmir Girish Chander Saxena has said.

The security forces also seized huge quantities of arms and ammunition including 50 machine guns, 700 Ak47 rifles and Ak45 rifles, 50 rocket launchers and 1.50 lakh rounds of ammunition, the governor said in a radio broadcast.

However, despite this, there was “still tough going ahead”, as militants’ number in the valley was still high he said.
