NEW Delhi: Punjab Police chief K PS Gill last week went to the police headquarters to give his statement on the July 1 episode here in which Punjab policemen allegedly assaulted two sports Scribes.
Gill, spent an hour at the Police headquarters with Police Commissioner M. B. Kaushal who is probing into the incident on the directions of Union Home Minister S. B. Chavan.
Police sources said that Gill gave his eye witness account of the Press conference and mentioned the time he had arrived and left the venue. A luxury hotel, on that day.
Kaushal is expected to submit his report soon to the Home Minister who had directed him on July 3 to inquire whether “prima facie” Case Suggesting instigation by senior Punjab Police officers existed.
