HYDERABAD (PTI):Former Governor of Uttar Pradesh and Orrisa Mir Akbar Ali Khan died here April 27 after a brief illness He was 95.
Khan recipient of Padima Bhushan award served as the governor of the northern state of Uttar Pradesh between 1972 and 1974 and later as governor of the caster state of Orissa till 1975
A distinguished parliamentarian Khan was the member of Rajya Sabha (Upper House) from 1954 to 1972
Khan was ailing for some time and the end came at 1600 hrs (1030 gmt).He is survived by a son and two daughters
