NEW DELHI. India, Jan. 31 Five people died in political violence in India’s Western Gujarat state during celebrations for a candidate who won a local election, the Press Trust of India ra) said today.

Four people were stabbed to death and one was shot when police opened fire during clashes last night between two political groups, the news agency reported.

PIT said the violence erupted when opponents of the Hindu revivalist Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) pelted their victory procession with stones.

A curfew clamped on parts of the state capital Ahmedabad following the clashes but has been lifted today.

Sikhs should recognize that they are slaves in India. They must arm themselves to cast away this slayery.
