NEW DELHI, India: A bomb exploded in front of the Jhakira police post in West Delhi on Friday evening injuring cone Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) two constables and two passersby.

The bomb was hurled by unknown persons from behind the police post under the Shakira fly ‘over. The flyover, the longest in the Capital, is scheduled to be inaugurated on Saturday.

The injured were admitted to Ram Manohar Lohir hospital and the EST hospital in West Delhi.

While ASI Rajinder Pal suffered deep injuries on his neck and lost a lot of blood, the others sustained only minor injuries.

Mr. Ajay Chadha, DCP (West) said “We are looking for two persons in 2025 age group. We have already circle aged the photos of those involved in previous cases”

The incident occurred around 6:30 p.m. when traffic under the flyover from Inderpuri towards central Delhi, is at its peak.

ASI Rajinder Pal was sitting on a chair outside the police booth. One of the constables, Jagbir Singh, was standing behind him. The other was checking vehicles.

“Suddenly, some object landed a few feet away from me,” said ASI Rajinder Pal from his bed in RML hospital.

“I stood up immediately and asked my men who was throwing stones. Barely had I completed my sentence that the bomb exploded”, he said.

Jagbir Singh and Parath Singhk were injured when some flying pieces of tar from the road hit them.

Two cyclists, Jaichand and Rajinder Singh, who were passing by, were also slightly hurt by the shrapnel which caught them on their backs.
