LONDON: England beat West Indies by seven wickets in the third and final one-day cricket international at Lord’s on Monday.

Fair brother scored 113 and Hick remained unbeaten on 86.

England thus won all the three matches.

Powerfully struck 82 by Gus Logie lifted West Indies after their makeshift opening partnership again failed in the third and final one-day cricket international against England at Lord’s on Monday.

After losing their first two wickets with only eight on the board Logie was the mainstay of West Indies’ recovery as they scored a challenging 264 for nine in their 55 overs after being sent in to bat.

England had looked to be facing a larger target until a final burst by recalled fast bowled David Lawrence produced a tailed collapse.

Lawrence making an international comeback after almost three years was easily the most expensive of the bowlers but his three late wickets curtailed any final run chase.

He had earlier bowled opener Jeff Dujon off the first ball he faced and finished with figures of four for 67 from his 11 overs.

Lawrence replacing pace-man Chns Lewis was one of two changes in the England line-up with Warwickshire all-rounder Dermot Reeve making his debut in place of the injured Allan Lamb.

West Indies without their celebrated Opening pair of Gordon Greenidge and Desmond Haynes through injury brought gifted young left-hander Bnan Lara into the side.

West Indies makeshift opening pair failed dismally Dujon moved up the order did not face a ball for the first two overs and when he ‘did had his off-stump sent cartwheeling out of the ground by Lawrence.
