ROPER: An engineering college will be opened by the Punjab and Sindh Financing and Leasing Trust at Anandpur Sahib 35 Km from here, at a cost of Rs 5 crore.
The SGPC and the Panchayat of Anandpur village, near Anandpur Sahib, have reportedly offered a 100 acre piece for this purpose.
The Trust has deposited Rs 5 lakh with Punjabi University as endowment fund. The university has given affiliation to the college it is learnt.
The Trust has also decided to start a medical college after Guru Ram Dass at Talwandi Sabo. The Medical Council of India is being approached for permission.
The district administration has assured full cooperation to the Trust.
