The Indian legal system, for all its shortcomings, has at last once demonstrated, although belatedly, that it can deliver justice. The decision to prosecute and sentence K.P.S. Gill bolsters the morale and hopes of those who are committed to justice. No person, regardless of personal standing in a society or station in life, should be allowed to get away with boorish behavior and misconduct. Even heroes do not have a license to behave obnoxiously.

As a police officer Gill should have known that. He should have conducted himself in a manner befitting an officer and. a gentleman, but he did not and the Jaw and justice took its course. But what can be expected from a “Butcher” under whose orders and blessings thousands of Sikh youth ‘were exterminated. It is encouraging to see that Ms. Bajaj finally saw justice for the humiliation she suffered at the hands of this “arrogant ass” commonly known as KP.S. Gill. But this crime is just the tip of the iceberg. Gill has committed larger crimes not only against Sikhs ‘but against the humanity. CBI Recently admitted in court that it has evidence of mass cremation of Sikhs by the Punjab Police. As the Punjab Police Chief, Gill oversaw and often participated in the extrajudicial killing of over 30,000 Sikhs. In this respect he ranks with the leaders of Gestapo and the KGB as one of the world’s brutal killer. You know the story about the extermination of Jews both in Germany as well as in Russia. Is he a reincarnation of those brutal killers?

Mr Gill is a puppet of the Indian government, and he murdered his fellow Sikhs on government’s orders. It is precisely why so called “World’s largest democracy” honors him. The government wants to use the likes of Gill to intimidate Sikhs, both in India and abroad, who speak out for freedom and justice. Government of India honors Gill because it regards mass murder of Sikhs as a good thing and Gill is especially good at it.

Instead of being honored, Gill should be tried for his horrible crimes against humanity and hung for his brutal acts of genocide of Sikhs. A vicious killer like Gill should not be allowed to run around and murder law abiding and freedom loving Sikhs. Now that he has been sentenced for the assault on Ms. Bajaj, he should be tried for his part in India’s genocide of Sikhs. Civilized societies cannot tolerate coldblooded killers, let alone honor them. Will some Court and Justice seeking Judge have the courage to try Gill for his crimes? Sikh nation and people seeking justice all over the world, certainly hope so.
