NEW DELHI: The economic bill for state oppression through police and para military forces will be $136 million or Rs 204 billion according to government projectors for 198990.

This does not include the Central Reserve Police Force and Border Security Force deployment in Punjab which is calculated at $20 million.

A special grant of $59.34 million or Rs 89.01 billion was made. by the Centre for Punjab police for the year 198990,

KPS Gill the Punjab police Chief has chalked out a plan to use 6.66 million or Rs 100 billion for the state’s police force. Though some of the monies have been given grants $37.33 million Rs 560 billion has been given by the center as a special term loan this year burdening the poor taxpayers further and all this to support machinery which is repressing them!

The central government has earmarked Rs 72 billion for the demolition of historic buildings around the holiest Sikh gurdwara the Golden Temple. The project, ironically called “beautification plan” is to give a clear line of fire to snipers and others in any future military action.

Sikh pleas that their heritage is being wantonly destroyed in the so called beautification plan, have fallen on deaf ears.
