Ludhiana: Death has struck again, this time snatching from our midst the doyen of modem day scholars of Sikhism, Dr.Trilochan Singh, True to his character, as well as spirit of dedication, he was actually en gaged in revising his latest work of research relating to the speculative writings of the 19th century European scholar Trump, on Feb.15,1993 when the end came, triggered by massive heart attack at his home in downtown Ludhiana.

From its inception The Sikh Review has been privileged to carry the writings and research papers of Dr.Tnilochan Singh in its columns. A man of extraordinary intelligence, and indefatigable researcher with a flair for language and picturesque turn of phrase, he had a dozen or more books to his credit, including the magnum opus on the life of Guru Tegh Bahadur, Prophet and Martyr, written at the request of the Delhi Gurdwara Prabandhak Commitee, and is considered as an authority on the Ninth Guru’s life and times.

Dr.Tnlochan Singh was the author of many scholarly books on Sikhism and related subjects. He also visited the USA in 1976 and 1977. He wrote a book “Sikhism and Tantric Yoga.” This book compares the teachings of Sikh Guru’s and Yogi Bhajan’s misinterpretation of Sikhism.

We mourn the loss of a patron and friend, and pray that Satguru grant peace to the departed soul and strength to his family to bear this woeful loss.
