SADDLEBROOK, New Jersey : At a specially convened meeting of the World Sikh Organization US.A. National Council, Dr. Manohar Singh Grewal of Boston ‘was unanimously elected President for the remaining term. The vacancy was caused by the exit of S, Ganga Singh Dhillon. Dr, Naunihal Singh of New York was unanimously elected Director of Administration. He was also unanimously elected as President-elect for the next full erm. Mr. Birishwar Singh Grewal relinquished his office as Director Finance and S. Bhajan Singh Gill from New York was asked to take up his work. Mr. Birishwar Singh is reportedly close to S. Ganga Singh.

Meanwhile, Dr. Manohar Singh Grewal has issued the following press note:

“With regret announce the resignation of S, Ganga Singh Dhillon from the Presidency of the WS.O.US.A. S. Ganga Singh Dhillon tendered his resignation at the WS..U.S.A.National Council meeting held on February 15, 1986 at Saddlebrook, Marriot Hotel, New Jersey. S. Ganga Singh gave assurances of his continued participation as a member of the National Council. Dr. Manohar Singh was unanimously elected as the President and Dr. Naunihal Singh as Director of Administration of WS.O.US. A. Dr. Naunihal Singh was also proposed and unanimously elected to be the president-elect for the next term. However, there is no provision of this in the constitution at the present time.

The National Council also accepted the resignation of S. Birishwar Singh Grewal who held the position of Director of Finance (Treasurer).

The new leaders along with the National Council set their goals to protect and promote Sikhs interests and to work towards bringing unity among the Sikhs.
