Dear Editor,

It is with apprehension that I am writing this letter to the Sikh Com- munity at large to warn them of the attempt of the World Sikh Organization (WSO) to gather a list of Sikhs sympathizers in Punjab for the expressed purpose of giving it to Mr.Ian Mulgrew. You may not know that Mulgrew is the author of “Unholy Terror,” one of the worst books written about Sikh Gurus, Sikhs, and Sikhism. As you may recall from an open letter to the WSO by Mrs. Lise K.Chawla. which appeared in the March 4.1994 issue of the World Sikh News, this man was given a con- tract by the WSO (about $150,000, the cost of the project) to prepare a video about the Sikh struggle of the past 10 years. Given the past record of that person, it is most dangerous to leave the names and hence the lives of the Sikhs identifying with the Sikh cause in Punjab in his hand. To compile such a list by the WSO is a sin, knowing the was of the Indian Government and K.P.S.Gill. This letter is an urgent request to refrain from providing names to the WSO or its representatives. If anyone has already done so, he/ she should request the WSO not to supply that name to any other per- son, including Mr.Mulgrew. This is a serious matter as the WSO is playing with the lives of innocent Sikhs. Be forewarned.
