CHANDIGARH: The investigating agencies have moved a step closer to establishing the identity of the human bomb in the Beant Singh assassination case as the nose of the reconstructed face has been found identical to that In Dilawar Singh’s photograph.
Sources said since the remains of the skull of the suspected human bomb had the nose burnt and disfigured, the agencies repeated the identification exercise on the bais of photographs of Dilawar Singh which were recently obtained by the investigators.
However, until the DNA report Confirms that the remains indeed belonged to Dilawar Singh, the ‘agencies are continuing investigations with an open mind.
“Until the DNA test proves Dilawar Singh’s identity beyond doubt, we are even taking into account the probability of his parents misleading the investigations,” an officer said, Traces of explosives found in the legs and Socks only strengthen the probability of the limbs being those of the human bomb.
