PATIALA: India’s Central Reserve Police Force killed one farmer of Barbali Khurd, Baljinder Singh, and injured another, Narinder Singh, when they were returning from Khanna after selling their paddy.
According to Baldev Singh, President of Punjab B.K.U., the farmers were fired upon without a warning when they were trying to pass through a barrier put up by the C.R.P.F. near Goh village.
The farmers’ leader said that another farmer, Amar Singh, had been killed at Kattu village in Sangrur district by the police a few days ago. India’s policy of repression would never pay it.
The farmers’ leader added.
