NEW DELHI: The army continued to be placed at strategic Locations in the capital for the fourth day Saturday as a precautionary measure.

Twenty columns of army were deployed in various parts of Delhi to assist the civil authorities to prevent any untoward development in the wake of the assassination of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi on Tuesday.

The Delhi police was monitoring round-the-clock the law and order situation in the union territory, a top police official said.
