SAN FRANCISCO, CA: Kammi K, Bisla received her Medical Degree from the University of California, San Francisco, School of Medicine in May, 1995, Kammi is the daughter of Sukhdev Singh and Gian Kaur Bisla of Linden, California. She is granddaughter of the late Dr.& Mrs. Udhan Singh Bisla, Apra, Punjab, and Mr. & Mrs, Resham. Singh Kullar, San Sarpur, Punjab, Kammi graduated valedictorian of her class from Linden High School in 1987. Then she completed her undergraduate education at Stanford University, graduating with honors in Biological Sciences. While at Stanford, Kammi was Editor in Chief of Stanford’s yearbook, resident assistant in the dormitory, and involved in many organizations. She also began doing research on healing processes in the eye, and was able to give an oral presentation of her work at an Ophthalmology convention in Florida.

During her medical education, Kammi has served as tutor in the Medical ‘Scholar Program in her school, She has volunteered her time in the San Francisco Homeless Shelter Medical Clinic and as a Teacher’s Aid for Junior high school students in the San Francisco Unified School District in Science classes, Kammi received a scholarship to further pursue her research which has resulted in two articles published in Scientific journals, several abstracts, and an article currently in process.

Kammi was awarded lifetime membership into Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society, an honor granted to the top one sixth of her class based on academic excellence and personal characteristic sought in a physician Kammi will be finishing her medical training as an intern in internal medicine at the University of Pennsylvania Hospital and then as a resident in Ophthalmology at Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia, one of the top Ophthalmology residency programs in the United States.
