NEW DELHI: The date for by elections to 16 parliamentary and 58 assembly seats has been postponed by a day to November 16, the election commission announced on Thursday.

The change in the November 15 polling date was made in view of holidays in some states official sources said.

The by-election process will be completed before Nov.19 instead of Nov.18they said.

Present R. Venkataraman issued the poll notification calling upon the people to elect representatives to 16 Lok Sabha constituencies. The notifications for assembly elections were issued by the state governors.
