NEW DELHI: The new Indian govt will present a full-fledged budget in July Manmohan Singh the finance minister said here Saturday

There is enough time and he will present the budget in time Singh a renowned economist who was sworn-in a cabinet minister on Friday said. Talking to the press trust of India in the north block office of the finance minister Singh said the exact timing of the presentation of the budget for 1991-92 would be decided by the prime minister.

The present vote on account taken by the Chandra Shekhar govt in March enabled the exchequer to meet the expenses till July 31.

Regarding a loan from the IMF Singh said India had been negotiating with it and as a member of the international institution there was nothing wrong in taking advantage of the facility.

There is nothing wrong in the loan he said adding that the govt would not do anything that went against the basic interests of the nation.

Asked if there was a possibility of tapping NRI and other untapped areas for assistance to tide over the difficult balance of payments position Manmohan Singh said the govt would examine all the possibilities.

He however refused to divulge any details saying it was too premature
