CHANDIGARH: The Hindu revivalist Bhartiya withdrew support to the Hukam Singh ministry in Haryana and asked the speaker to recognise it as the opposition.
A party spokesman said the BJP high command had approved the decision of the state unit.
The BJP has since been ideologically isolated from all mainstream political parties.
The spokesman said the leader of the BJP legislature party, Mangal Sein, had written to the speaker to recognise them as the opposition party in the legislative assembly.
Going by the strength the leader of the 16member BJP group, Mangal Sein, is likely to be the leader of the opposition.
Ina house of 86, the strength of the ruling Janata Dal (S) is 41, BJP 16, Janata Dal (7), Jan hit Morcha (8), Congress (I) 5, CPT‘one CPM one independents 7.
