CHANDIGARH, India: Akali politics in Delhi took a dramatic turn when Sardar Avtar Singh Auto pin joined Badal ‘Akali Dal along with his supporters, This group was considered close to Akali Dal (Longowal). They shifted their allegiance after persistent lobbying by Mr. Prakash Singh Badal and Mr. Tohra who had a number of meetings with various Sikh leaders in the capital. Many other leaders of the Longowal Akali Dal also shifted their loyalties to Badal Akali Dal because of the efforts of Bhai Shaminder Singh leader of Parliamentary Akali Dal group.
