BATHINDA: Punjab Police tasted defeat in the sea saw battle with Western Command on the second day of the All India 10th Federation Cup Basketball Tournament at the Sports complex of Guru Nanak Dev Thermal Plant recently. The score at the final moment was 6270 in favour of Western Command.

Western Command who played a sloppy game, plugged holes to beat Punjab Police, If Phool Singh showed a good game for the command team it was Sajjan Singh who kept the morale of the police high.

For command team Phool Singh and Amar Singh were the top Scorers with 31 and/13 points, respectively. Sajjan Singh and Gurjit Singh Maili ferched maximum points for the police with 25 and 16 points.

In the second match Indian Bank (Tamil Nadu) maintained their supremacy in Group” “A” by recording fine victory of 7164 against Vijaya Bank (Kamataka). Indian Bank led 4130 at the break. For Vijaya Bank it was the second successive defeat.

In another match, Western Railway beat Tisco 10482 and Hyderabad routed DAV College, Chandigarh, 7342.
