ROTTERDAM, NETHERLANDS: Two Americans touched down in Morocco on Sept.22 to end the longest balloon flight in history and the first such flight from the United States to Africa. _

The team was blown off course and lost the five-team race across the Atlantic, with a Belgian team placing first.

But in making the 2,732-mile voyage in seven days, Richard Abruzzo, 29, and Troy Bradley, 28, broke the world endurance record set by Abruzzo’s late father in 1978.
