NEW DELHI: India appointed on January 31 its Ambassador to Pakistan, Shailendra Kumar Singh, as the country’s Foreign Secretary, an External Affairs Ministry Spokesman said.

Singh succeeds K.P.S. Menon to India’s top diplomatic post on February 17 and will hold it for two years.
