FAIZABAD: The joint delegation of members of Parliament and standing committee of the National Integration Council (NIC) which visited the disputed Ram janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid site in Ayodhya on April 7 will submit a detailed report to Prime Minister P.V.Narasimha Rao in the next three to four days.

Leader of the delegation S.R.Bommai said the report would be submitted after the delegation deliberated on the facts which had come to its notice along with the views expressed by the Uttar Pradesh government. The 36-member delegation visited the disputed site to make an on-the-spot assessment of the situation which arose after the alleged demolition of some structure and temples around the complex.

The team also inspected the wall known as “Ram Deewar” which is being constructed around the complex.

Addressing a news conference here Bommiai said the delegation had sought detailed information from the state government on the different court orders passed so far on the issue.

He said the objective of the mission was to find out the truth whether the court orders had been state government to give the latest cite plan of the land acquired. The delegation members sought many clarifications from the U P Government Bommai said. There were some disagreements on certain points he said but did not elaborate.

Some of the delegation members were not fully satisfied with the explanation given by Lalji Tandon and Brahmdutt Dwivedi who represented the state government during the visit.

Bommai expressed his unhappiness that the delegation was not headed by Union Home Minister who happened to be the chairman of the committee of the NIC.

He expressed hope that after the report was submitted the government would deal with the issue. “I hope both the state and center government will try to find out a solution to the vexing issue.” Bommai said so far the successive governments could not find a solution to the issue because “we did not rise above the party and kept one eye on the votes. Therefore the issue was prolonged and complicated.” Some individual members of the delegation like Suleman Sait and Syed Shahabuddin also visited the Mosque in Kasai Bara locality here where an explosion had occurred on March 31.

Meanwhile two U P Ministers Lalji Tandonn and Brahm Dutt Dwivedi denied allegations of violation of court orders saying the state government was empowered to remove all or any construction on the acquired and. .They said “there was no obstacle by way of High Court orders in the removal of the structures” and that there was no dispute in case of the acquired land.

The two ministers who received the delegation charged that some parties and elements were attempting to “vitiate the atmosphere by spreading baseless rumors.”

In Lucknow hearing of the Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid cases resumed before the special full bench which fixed April 8 10 and 14 for disposal of different applications An application moved by Mahant Ram Kripal Das relating to demolition of Sakshi Ram Gopal Temple will be heard on Wednesday. Another one by the Sunni WAQF board pleading for a direction to the union of India to take charge of the suit will be heard later this week.

Meanwhile a report from New Delhi said a nine-member BJP delegation led by Sikandar Bakht is reaching here Wednesday for an on-the-spot assessment of the recent developments. A report will be submitted to BJP chief L.K.Advani on their return. The delegation includes among others Madan Lal Khurana Rajbir Singh Rita Verma Vasundra Raje Scindia Gaya Prasad Kori Swami Chinmayanand and T.N.Chaturve
