FIRST AMRIT SANCHAR CAMP

The IIGS is pleased to announce its First Amrit Sanchar Camp to be held at the IGS House, La Habra Heights, Los Angeles, California, from April 1-3, 1988.

Participating as the revered Panj Payaras, will be the five beloved Singh Sahibs, Bhai Sahib Giani Gurdip Singh ji, of New York (former Head Granthi of Gurdwara Sis Ganj); Bhai Sahib Pashaura Singh Ji of Toronto; Bhai Sahib Giani Gurmukh Singh Ji, of Los Angeles; Bhai Sahib Giani Beant Singh Ji, from India; and Bhai Sahib Vikram Singh Ji, of San Diego. They will prepare the Pahul according to the Khalsa traditions and administer it.

Receiving Khande da Amrit from the Panj Pyaras is a must for every Sikh. According to the injunction of the Tenth Master, this is a conscious first step towards every Sikh’s formal acceptance of the Guru as the spiritual and temporal guide.

All participants are requested to gather at the IGS House either on Friday evening April 1st, 1988, or before 9:00 a.m. on Saturday morning April 2, 1988.

Please do remember to bring your sleeping bags and blankets. KANGAS, KACHARAS, KIRPANS, KARAS, AND KESKIES will be on sale at the IGS House.

Preparatory to the Amrit Sanchar ceremony on Sunday morning April 3, 1988, discourse will be given on Sikh fundamentals, and practical tutoring will be given in Naam Simran on Saturday April 2, 1988. The five Singh Sahibs will be available to answer any questions on Sikh Rahat Maryada.
