FRESNO: For many years the California Central Valley has been a mecca for Punjabi Immigrants. Because of the similarity in climatic and the growing population of Punjabis and Pakistanis, merchants and vendors are finding a fruitful business home. This week saw the grand opening of yet another business in the center of the East Asian population in the Fresno area. Sunrise Audio & Video, owned by Harjap Singh Abwal, joins the store like India Sweets and Spices, in a strip mall at Ashlan and Marks Avenues in Fresno.

There is already a Punjabi restaurant, jewelry store and grocery in the mall and a travel agency and insurance agency are scheduled to open soon
