The combined celebration of the 400th birth anniversary of Sri Hargobind took place in a precedent manner in the Washington Baltimore Area. It was the combined effort of ‘Sikh Foundation of Virginia, Guru Nanak Foundation of America, Sikh ‘Association of Baltimore and Washington Sikh Center. The programs consisted of Kirtan and Gurbani Vichar. Giani Sant Singh Ji Maskeen and other renowned kirtan Jathas of Bhai Nirmal Singh Ji, Bhat Pargat Singh Ji, Bhai Gurmal Singh Ji and Bhai Jagmohan Singh Ji provided the area sangat with Kirtan and katha vichar.
The celebration was made possible by the tireless efforts of Bhai Jagmohan Singh Ji and Giani Kuldeep Singh Ji, the head granthis of G.N.F.A. ‘and S. F.V. respectively.
Besides local sangat, sangat from as far as North Carolina, Ohio, New York, Florida, and California came to be a part of this celebration.
It was the most appropriate tribute to our 6th Guru Sri Hargobind Sahib Ji, the creator of Sri Akal Takhat Sahib, and the originator of Min and Piri. During this occasion the whole metropolitan area turned into a “Guru Di Nagari.”
