LA: Lanker shim Gurdwara in Los Angeles saw jubilant participants in the activities celebrating Ardas Day in co-operation with Babbar Khalsa International. About 500 people attended the function All were happy that Gurdwara is ready to become the fun center for the Service of community.
Babar’s Devinder Singh and Mohinder Singh spoke about reforms brought by Babbars in Punjab-such as the marriage barat which would allow more than 11 persons and have no dowry given. ‘They also wanted that all marriage ceremonies should be conducted: ‘within one day so as to minimize the economic burden on the bride’s family. Babbar Devinder Singh stressed that people should be educated about the social reforms needed by the community. Highlighting the problems of Sikhs in Punjab they said the support of Sikhs in USA Canada and the western world will be obtained by educating them through seminars and Open public discussions and not by imposing the concept of Khalistan on Sikhs.
They also said that they are not after the management committee of Gurdwara or interested disturbing the local managements of the Gurdwara rather they seek to work in a cooperation with Gurdwaras to spread Sikhism and highlight the concept of Khalistan Malkiat Singh Sidhu Chairman assured the Sadh Sangat and the Babbars that the present committee and the newly elected committee will work with them to serve the community in the best possible way. He also thanked Babbar Devinder Singh and other Babbars who came from far off places to make this function a success.
