NEW DELHI (PTI): Rahin Memon, an accused in the Bombay. Blasts case and wife of prime accused Yakub Memon, was arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) here on Sept.5.
Federal interior minister S.B.Chayan told a Press conference Rahin Memon was arrested when she reached here from a Gulf Country. Rahin had armed here along with her child. She 1s the eighth member of the Memon family to have been arrested in the case.
The CBI had arrested seven persons fast month including Yakub Abdul Razak Memon. Yakub, carrying a reward of Rs 5, 00,000 on his head was arrested on August 5 while six other members including his parents were taken into custody on Aug.25.
The CBI had named 12 members of the Memon family among the listof44 absconders in the Bombay, blasts case.
Now four members of the family including Ibrahim Abdul Razak Memon, alias Tiger Memon, clued arrest. Memon family’s involvement in Bombay serial bomb blasts that shook the commercial nerve center of Bombay in March last year came to light when a car belonging to them was sized by local police with large quantity of arms and ammunition. Subsequently they fled the country.
