ISLAMABAD: A meeting of the senior officials of the Islamic Conference of Forcing Ministers (ICFM) on Sept.6 ruled out the possibility of giving observer status to Kashmin leaders.

“The question of giving observer status to Kashmiri leaders docs NOL arise at the moment, they are participating in the ICEM to meet Secretary General of Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC) Hamid Allahabad, an ICFM spokesperson told a Press conference after a meeting of senior ICEM officials which finalized the formal agenda for the conference which began here Wednesday. The seventh extraordinary ICEM session would be inaugurated by Pakistan Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto, Bosnian Prime Minister Haris Siladjzle would also address the inaugural session. Replying to questions, the spokesperson said the OIC Secretary General had been mandated by the 21st regular ICFM in Karachi in April last year to consult the “true representatives of the Kashmin people.””

The senior officials meeting, presided by Pakistan Foreign Secretary Najmuddin Shaikh, approved four items for the formal conference agenda the cause of Palestine and the status of Jerusalem, the situation in war-torn Bosnia-Herzegovina, the Jammu and Kashmir dispute and the situation in Afghanistan.
