DHAKA (PTI): India and Sri Lank agreed to explore the possibility of setting up joint ventures in the private sector in export of tea and rubber.

The agreement was reached during the nearly half an hour informal meeting between Indian minister for external affairs Dinesh Singh and Sri Lankan foreign minister A.C.S.Hameed here.

Sri Lanka expressed desire to import spices from India, official sources said.

All these issues would once again come for a thorough discussion when the Indo Sri Lanka joint economic Commission meets in New Delhi on January 1718.

The two ministers also discussed Indo Lankan trade and ways to expand it.
