BARIPADA: Orissa chief minister Biju Patnaik slapped an inspector of police on duty at a Janata Dal poll workers meeting at Karanjit 120 km from here. Wednesday according to police sources here.
Angered over brick batting by a small section of people at his meeting at a local high school Patnaik walked up to the police officer on duty and slapped him for his “failure to prevent the incident”.
While the police inspector L.D Pradhan kept silent several administration and police officer present watched the incident in dismay police said.
No one was injured in the brick batting.
