FARIDABAD: In the midst of continued and large-scale influx of Congressmen including former ministers former MP”s former MLAs and office-bearers of the party’s state and district level units to the Haryana Vikas Manch (HVM) Mr Bansi Lal has announced that he would float regional party the Haryana Vikas Party (HYP) retaining the HYM’s political identity.
The HVP will have seat adjustments with the Janata Dal and the National Front in the forthcoming Lok Sabha and assembly elections in Haryana.
The general secretary of the HYP Mr J.P.Dalal announced that all office-bearers and executive committee members of the HVP had resigned recently after electing Mr Bansi Lal as the new president. Mr Bansi Lal later nominated Mr Mani Ram Godara former MP Mr Ved Paul former Haryana Deputy Speaker and Mr Kishan Dass former finance minister as vice-president genera] secretary and treasurer of the HYP respectively.
Mr K.S.Dalal who joined the HYM a few days ago after resigning as vice-president of the Haryana Youth Congress was nominated convenor of the youth wing of the HYP. The vice-president of the Haryana Pradesh Mahila Congress Mrs Lajwanti Srivastava has become convenor of the women’s wing of the HYP. A former minister Mr Amar Singh Dhanak and Mr Ram Chanden Jangra have become convenors of the HYP’s scheduled caste and backward class cells. Mr Bansi Lal said “The HVP is already registered as a political party with the Election Commission and has applied for a symbol.”
Mr Godara has been appointed chairman of the HVP”s parliamentary board with powers to nominate candidates for the ensuing elections and for drafting the party’s poll manifesto. Mr Bansi Lal is not a member of the parliamentary board. Leaving the job to Mr Godara Mr Bansi Lal made it clear that no member of this family including his son Mr Surender Singh MP would be given a HVP ticket and if assembly elections were held simultaneously with the Lok Sabha polls he would himself contest from the Tosham assembly constituency in Bhiwani district. Otherwise he will contest as the HVP nominee from the Bhiwani Lok Sabha seat
BJP ASSAILED: Mr Bansi Lal took strong exception to the announcement by the BJP general secretary Mr K.L.Sharma recently that the BJP will not leave any truck with the HVP. “The initiative for seat adjustment came from the BJP and the unilateral severance of relations too has come from it” he said. The HVP will not respond to any invitation for talks with the BJP it will have seat adjustment with the Janata Dal and the National Front he added
The president of the Hind. Mazdoor Sabha (HMS) the largest trade union in Haryana Mr Subash Sethi till recently considered to be a Devi Lal ally met Mr Bansi Lal at the Circuit House recently and assured full support.
Later Mr Bansi Lal presented the former development minister Mrs Sharda Rani Kanwar the president of the Gurgaon city Congress committee Mr O.P.Minocha Kanwar Rajinder Singh and Mr Gian Chand Ahuja both general secretaries of the Faridabad DCC Mr Jajwanti Srivastava and several other senior Congressmen who have joined the HVP.
LOUD WELCOME: As the procession climbed on to the stage the audience started shouts slogans extending full support Mr Bansi Lal. ‘The HVP has tape-recorded laudatory so it played all along the route and the rally. Video cassette show Mr Bansi Lal as the architect Haryana and Mr Devi Lal and clan as villains were also exhibit.
During the hour-long speech Bansi Lal took the Deputy Prime Minister Mr Devi Lal Haryana chief minister Mr Chautala and the former Un-agriculture minister Mr Bha Lal to ask for spreading corrupt and poisoning the social climate talking of caste and religion. Warned Mr Chautala against use of official machinery in the as was indicated by the large-so administrative reshuffling. He demanded President’s rule Haryana and also that “criminal like some DIGs and SPs Haryana be divested of power they were cleared of the chan-leveled against them during last Lok Sabha elections and events in Mceham last year.
