OTTAWA: Stained by “political manipulation” and excessive lobbying the privatization of Pearson airport was a bad deal for the Canadian public and had to be killed, concludes a damning report by Robert Nixon.
“To leave in place an inadequate contract, arrived at with such a flawed process and under the shadow of possible political manipulation, is unacceptable,” the former Ontario treasurer told Prime Minister Jean Chretien.
Pearson Development Corp., which was to get the Keys to the terminals on Dee.15, should only expect “reasonable compensation” for costs to date, Nixon.
