NEW DELHI (PTI): India and France have signed an agreement to set up and operate high speed digital communication network Stations at Bombay New Delhi and Bangalore for use by Indian software exporters.
The high speed digital communication network to be set up by the French firm Alcatel will help India have direct access to France and other European countries an official press release said here on Nov.6.
The first station in Bombay will be operational by March 1993 and the stations in New Delhi and Bangalore by May 1993 under the agreement signed between Alcatel and the Indian Public sector company Satcomm.
India and France will equally share the Project cost estimated to be Rs 200 million. The high speed digital communication networks will cater to the long standing demand of software exporters in India and help boost software exports.
The agreement was signed by Satcomm and Alcatel officials in the presence of French ambassador Phillip Petit and Secretary Department of electronics N. Vital.
