Those unhappy 40 Sikhs who disclaimed Guru, had been abandoned by their kith & kin for having been disloyal to the Guru, Mai Bhago collected them all, while bringing them back to Guru for pardon, they were attacked by the Mughal forces. All of them died fighting. On hearing that, Gur rushed to the battle field, He found the brave Sikhs lying dead all over. Mahan Singh had some life. Guru picked him up, begged for forgiveness. Guru picked up the disclaimer and tore it to pieces. Seeing this Mahan Singh breathes his last. “Tooti Gandhan Har Gopal” This historic place is also known as “Tuti Gandi.”
